Nurturing Your Inner Garden - Roxana Roshon, Naturotherapist, Ph.D.

In the middle of April, I was having an acupuncture session at Guelph Community Acupuncture and received some life-changing insight. I was laying there pondering why I was so frustrated with the disharmony in our home life.

I clearly and distinctly heard “SURRENDER”.

Two of our three cats are not getting along after seven months of us trying so many different techniques. We have used the services of two different energy practitioners for animals (Avril the Indigo and Beverley at Healthy Awakenings), plus lots of energy work on myself and our family dynamics. With that word, I was able to lay back and release my impatience to the universe. Since then, a couple of viable options on how to balance the energy of our cats and home have surfaced.

With April, tax time rolled around again. This word, “SURRENDER”, allowed me to release more of my family’s old pattern of distrusting finances and universal abundance.

I’ve noticed that I and others are surrendering to the weather, as we can never predict or control it. As Steve frequently says, “our weather is like it is to give Canadians something to talk about”. In a recent 5-day trip to Halifax to visit my older sister and some friends, we went adventuring in the rain. Surrendering to the power of the ocean is something that humans have done for centuries. Feeling the crashing of the waves on the rocks and the ebb and flow of the tides on the sand were powerful reminders to surrender to life. How can you surrender?
