Amazing Moments

Posted September 7, 2017

September is here with its cooler nights, shorter days, and the flurry of getting back into autumn routines. As we reflect on our summer holidays, what stands out as special for you? What is that moment of gratitude, uniqueness, and joy that sustains you into the autumn?

One of the highlights for both Steve and I from our August road trip was Elk Island National Park in Alberta. While we were hiking, a bull bison walked down the trail towards us. As instructed, we stepped off the trail into the bush. It was an amazing experience to watch this majestic animal lumber down the trail. He chose to step into the bush opposite us and stop for a break. As we stood there and admired his power, I thought about the bison as an animal guide. This was a moment of extreme gratitude and interconnection. For me the bison is a symbol of abundance, a reminder of the importance of family, patience, gentleness, and peacefulness. On this trip, we also stopped to watch pronghorn antelope, elk, more bison, and lots of waterfowl. We had many hawks and a solitary owl fly over our car. What is around you that has special meaning? What amazing moments are happening in your life?
