Community CeremoniesPosted September 11, 2022
Once again, Jennifer Redmond and I are combining efforts to bring four community ceremonies to Guelph spaced out over the next year. At each ceremony, Steve Lidkea will open the directions (East, West, North, South, cosmos, and earth) in Nahuatl (ancient language of the Toltecs). Together, we will celebrate the Autumn Equinox, the Winter Solstice, the Spring Equinox, and the Summer Solstice. You are welcome to attend as our guest. We are also inviting community participation from anyone who is interested.
Our intent is that each ceremony is on the Sunday afternoon (starting at 3:00 pm) prior to the equinox or solstice. This gives us an opportunity to prepare for the change of season before it happens.
If you are interested in a responsibility, please check out our list of tasks. There is a separate tab for each season offering plenty of opportunity to assist and learn new skills.
We are delighted to be bringing these sacred ceremonies to you.
Investment: Donations to the land appreciated!
Location: Sacred Fire Pit at St. Brigid’s Villa, Ignatius Jesuit Centre, 5420 ON-6, Guelph, ON N1H 1G8

In this Winter Solstice ceremony, we will honour the darkness within and around us and reclaim our nature spirit. This transitional phase in human evolution is bringing in light and love to each one of us. This pivotal moment allows us to balance our shadow with our light and shift us towards our best self. Ceremonial Cacao will be served to keep the winter chill at bay.

Spring is an amazing time of year. Everything comes to life. Allow the dormant parts of yourself to emerge into vitality as energy returns. Share in welcoming the return of spring. Take part in a seed blessing and fire ceremony. We will be celebrating the change of the seasons, followed by the enjoyment of beverages and a potluck.

Summer Solstice is a special time because it is when the sun shines the longest. Allow personal and collective transformation to happen with the warmth and brighness of the sun. Stay after the ceremony to enjoy a potluck. Plus enjoy this community-building opportunity to with your spiritual family.
